I was using phpMyAdmin on my Windows Vista machine and then, bam, the phpMyAdmin came to a halt. I got the following error message in my browser:
Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly.
I didn’t find anything of use in the log. But after a bit of Googling I noticed references to temp directories. I went into the temp directory located in C:\xampplite\tmp on my machine (your tmp directory may be in a different subdirectory depending on your configuration) and just deleted the temp files there. Bingo! Solved the problem.
