I have an upcoming post that touches this issue somewhat tangentially but is applicable nonetheless. That post is really a snippet of a fascinating book called "Why the Mind is Not a Computer." In time, a few forward thinkers saw it was a cognitive disorder, and since cognition is in the brain, they treated that with medications. (Now, we have other brain treatments that are coming into their own, as well.) Jeff, this is a great, great analysis of where we are now in the world of AD/HD treatment.
