When that is one's foundational either/or question, the ego only two choices: 1. "I am normal, and everyone else is an idiot." 2. "I am an idiot, and everyone else is normal." Unless someone is able to intervene with a more nuanced answer, that ego sure seems vulnerable to accepting the option 1 from the first charlatan to come along. When that is one’s foundational either/or question, the ego only two choices:

1. “I am normal, and everyone else is an idiot.”
2. “I am an idiot, and everyone else is normal.”

Unless someone is able to intervene with a more nuanced answer, that ego sure seems vulnerable to accepting the option 1 from the first charlatan to come along.
