Dyslexia? Go to Xanadu

According to Tom Cruise, the well-known expert on dyslexia, religion and the human mind, Scientology was instrumental in helping him overcome his dyslexia. He said once he traveled to planet Xanadu the dyslexia disappeared.

Notice the key phrase from Cruise: “I asked myself if I was normal or an idiot.”

When that is one’s foundational either/or question, the ego only two choices:

1. “I am normal, and everyone else is an idiot.”
2. “I am an idiot, and everyone else is normal.”

Unless someone is able to intervene with a more nuanced answer, that ego sure seems vulnerable to accepting the option 1 from the first charlatan to come along.
